Founded in 2011, Tandem Vintage first started selling her wares at pop-ups around the Twin Cities. She eventually left her full-time job, turning her thrifting hobby into a career. In September 2021, she opened her first brick-and-mortar shop in the Kingfield neighborhood of Minneapolis. Tandem is proud to be a queer- and woman-owned business. Local brands featured in the shop are all BIPOC-, LGBTQIA-, or woman/nonbinary-owned businesses. All are welcome.
Founder Amanda Baumann loves to mix colors, decades, styles, and prints, focusing on the 1950s through the 1990s. As a second-hand-only shopper, she believes in buying high-quality pieces that will last. Buy what you love, take care of what you have, and have fun!
A former editor from Detroit, Amanda currently lives in Minneapolis with her wife and two rescued dogs, Neko and Mora. She loves collecting paint by numbers and sea shells, traveling, swimming, and thrifting around Minnesota. When she’s not at her shop, you can find her scooting around town with a coffee in her hand, an overflowing cart, and a huge smile.
